Department store chain Debenhams appointed HMKM to create a series of brand booklets for their popular ‘Designers at Debenhams’ ranges. The booklets needed to establish a series of distinctive identities within the Debenhams family, and clearly communicate each range’s essence.
Each booklet draws inspiration from the respective designer’s personality and philosophy, to shape its individual look and feel. In the case of ‘J’ by Jasper Conran, that meant a design that mirrored Conran’s graphic lines and unexpected approach to form, and echoed his strong emphasis on craftsmanship and detail. This translated into a clean, classic design, combining bold colour accents with a crisp laser-cut cover and striking inset binding details. Faith’s booklet, meanwhile, exudes the footwear label’s distinctive sense of glamour, youth, and cheeky confidence. Iridescent rainbow treatments and a range of hot foiling techniques combine with fizzy pastel colours and dynamic photography to generate an identity that sparkles with playfully exuberant personality.
