This autumn, the Boyner Group opened Wepublic, an innovative fashion destination at the Akmerkez Mall in Istanbul's upmarket Beşiktaş district. Spread across four storeys and 90,000 square feet, the store offers an accessible, inspiring, engaging experience which reflects the speed and energy of 2016’s fashion culture. Juxtaposed with GAD Architecture's sculptural atrium and Universal Studio's menswear zone, HMKM’s vision for the womenswear, beauty and accessories floors takes cues from both art and nature, and is shaped by Istanbul's vibrant architecture and culture; luxury materials are clashed with industrial textures, and minimalist shapes with striking theatrical moments and jolts of vibrant colour.
Targeting the millennial audience, Wepublic embraces fashion’s new ‘See Now, Buy Now’ mood by creating an environment which celebrates newness and change. Pop-up spaces are spread throughout the store, constantly transforming to keep the customer’s physical experience in sync with each new season’s collections. The same playful attitude extends throughout, from the sculptural staircase which links the womenswear floors, to the striking atrium slide which sweeps customers from top to bottom of the store in seconds.
Iconic, experimental, accessible and sophisticated, Wepublic heralds a new way of thinking about the retail experience; its colourful, provocative environment is infused with the energetic, irreverent sensibility of the next shopping generation.
